Sutherland selected as director at Carroll County Public Library

Carroll County Public Library Board voted last week to remove the “interim” from the title Leslie Sutherland has had for nearly a year.
At its Friday, May 20 meeting, the board voted to name Sutherland the new director of the library. Sutherland, who has served as interim director since July 2020, will officially start serving as director on June 1.
Board president Mary Francis Mefford said that Sutherland has done a “great job as interim.”
A native of Henry County, Sutherland has lived in Carroll County for 30 years. In 1999, she started working for CCPL as a children’s librarian; she had taken her own children to story time as a patron. Over the years, she took on more and more outreach duties, eventually becoming the official outreach librarian in 2018. This meant she was responsible for community partnerships and outreach, delivering books to local schools and nursing homes.
